New Years in Salt Lake City, Utah

It's strange not being around a ton of friends and family for new years. It's also weird that they celebrated already and we have two more hours.

They dont show the ball drop! So weird!

At least Nick and Taylor are here.

Happy New Year!

Just realized NJ gets to 2010 before we will! Have a safe one.

Snow drifts in Wyoming, Mountains in Colorado

Ian was awesome!
From Adventures!

Colorado mountains were breath-taking. (although, I didn't get a good picture of them.)

Wyoming has snow drifts and trees. It felt like I was driving on clouds up in the sky. There were even clouds over the mountain tops.
We met a girl from PA headed our way.

we're not in kansas any more

i dont know if lisa's blog title is the same but screw it, i know you are on here really to read asbout me.... funny thing i have drivin half way across the country and this silly blue car is following me ever where.... we stopped at a pizza hut to eat. i think i would like to some mountains now

We're not in Kansas anymore!

Nick and I just crossed the boarder from Kansas into Colorado. Also we're in Mountain time now! We gained a few hours on this drive. Nick says he doesn't care, but I think its cool.

Also the drive though Kansas was not bad. Actually it was refreshing. So nice to see land instead of striaght highway.

Half way point!

We are currently in Topeka Kansas getting ready to hit the road and head out to Denver, Colorado where we will meet up with a good friend of mine who I haven't seen since College - Ian.

Yesterday felt like 2 days! I guess I jinxed it the other day when I wrote about how the weather has been all sun and dry roads. We had about an hour an a half left of driving last night when it started to snow. We took it real slow in the right hand lane the whole time. We didn't get to bed until after 2am. It's 9:20 am here in Kansas and I'm letting Nick sleep in. Check out is at 11am and we have a lot of driving to do today.

It stopped snowing and the weather man said it's going to be sunny today and tomorrow for the direction we are heading so we might be lucky. The roads might still be a little bad, but we'll have to see. If it gets too bad we'll find a hotel and crash there. We gave ourselves some extra time to get to Idaho before I have to start work on Monday. We really did want to try to make it to Salt lake by Thursday so we can spend New Years with Taylor, but we'll have to play it by ear.

More to come!

topeka kansas

arrived alive just barley we stopped for batteries so we could use the walki talkis... that saved us through the blizzard for the las two hour leg into kansas. the cars that whipped past us ended up in ditches but we slowly made it to our destination with out any dents... but tomorrow is more snow and that could mean a slow go

Five States in one day!

I didn't realize when planning this trip, but we hit five states today!

bull run

out of st louis but now we have a fouir hour ride to tokeka... all nighter till onje am, yea i am driving

made it to st louis

the arch ride to the top is sold out till tomorrow. but because we want to spent new years with taylor we will be moving on after dinner... we are currently eating at jake's steak house. amazingly pabst blue ribbon in its state of creation is not the cheapest beer on the menu, stag is ugh i can onloy imagine but at 2.50 how bad could it be? i am sure jon would drink it.

illinoise rest stop:

voted cleanest rest stop in 2003 but never cleaned since.... good thing we are almost to st louis, oh we went through kentucky and tennese. both states are great you set your speed gps and fall asleep literally a strait piece of highway. i played a game of bhow long can i let go of the steering wheel. one min was my best time....

brunch at loveless cafe

the loveless cafe at 11:00 there is an hour wait for two, i believe if you want breakfast you should go some where else. the food really wasnt impressive. the biscuts "that you gotta try" were no better then the ones at kfc..... i also have decided that if you want a nj with no coast( also no guitos) then tennesse is your state.... everything here looks and sounds like nj with a stupid accent...... we need to get moving.

Weather..

So far it's been sunny skys and dry roads... we're hoping to miss the storm. Following the weather reports now. Looks good so far.

St. Louis her we come!

More photos

Lisa and Nick in Nashville!

Lisa pumps her first tank of gas by herself.

Homer Simpson and Lisa get ready to start the drive....

Good Morning Nashville!

We didn't leave the hotel last night. This hotel is so big we didn't have to. There are resturants, bars, shops, a radio station, a ferry ride, a water show, pools, nature walks, christmas lights... we didn't even see it all.

After walking around the hotel we were pretty tired. Now we are leaving the hotel and hitting the road for St. Louis!!

Nashville!

We have arrived! We are now in Nashville, TN and in the Central time zone!

The drive was long and we are starving. We are sitting at the Jack Danilles Saloon awaiting our burgers and chicken wings. The hotel is beautiful and very large. But filled with thirteen year old cheerleaders. blah. Nick tried to upgrade our room but rooms are sold out. The room is really sweet even if it doesnt have a view.

Tonight we're going to roam around and see whats here. For now our wings are here!

We miss you all allready!

current status: first leg complete

i hate virginia...... we made it to nashville, looks like nj with a funny accent. but i am quick to judge we just got our room and are eating at a jack daniels resturant. i hope the rest of the trip goes smoother

On our way to Nashville, TN

Packing is not fun!

The tractor trailer is coming this weekend. We only have Sunday to pack it. I'm more worried about having everything ready to pack before Sunday than I am about loading the trailer. I have to organize everything into piles - Idaho, Parents basement, Garbage or going to someone else. Plus glass objects need to be packed better than they currently are. Bubble wrap maybe?

Nick is less stressed than I am. His motto is, it'll all work out. I think it would be good if we could influence each other with our opposites. I'm actually looking forward to the more relaxed pace of Idaho. Work will still be fast paced, but down time will be different than I'm used to in NJ and NYC.

I'm really looking forward to Christmas this year.

Party weekend!

This weekend we're having a goodbye party at Nick's, and Sunday a goodbye dinner with family. Very strange. Exciting, but strange.

Last night I put up the Christmas decorations with my parents. I'll miss stuff like that. But, my brother wasnt even there and he hasn't moved out of state.

I'm so happy I'll get to see my cousin Kieran before I leave!

Counting down the days...

The Nick and Lisa goodbye party is Friday. Time is just flying by! Packing and Christmas stuff to be done and still want to see friends before the move.
